{"id":422,"date":"2019-05-27T05:13:53","date_gmt":"2019-05-27T05:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ramimarcus.com\/Recipes\/?p=422"},"modified":"2019-05-27T05:45:38","modified_gmt":"2019-05-27T05:45:38","slug":"indian-butter-chicken-murgh-makhani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ramimarcus.com\/Recipes\/indian-butter-chicken-murgh-makhani\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Yield<\/strong>: 4-6 servings<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>4 tbsp unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, chopped fine<\/li>\n<li>5 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>4 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated<\/li>\n<li>1 serrano chile, minced (leave in the seeds and ribs for spicy)<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp <a href=\"https:\/\/ramimarcus.com\/Recipes\/garam-masala\/\">garam masala<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ground coriander<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups water<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup tomato paste<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup Greek yogurt<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3>Sauce<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.\u00a0 Add onion, garlic, ginger, and serrano.\u00a0 Cook until softened, about 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add garam masala, coriander, cumin, and pepper.\u00a0 Cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add water and tomato paste, stir until combined.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat and stir in the cream.\u00a0 Use an immersion blender to process until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Add remaining 2 tbsp of butter and stir until melted.\u00a0 Keep warm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Chicken<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Prepare a baking sheet by covering in foil and placing a wire rack inside.\u00a0 Preheat the broiler.<\/li>\n<li>Combine yogurt and 1 tsp salt in a bowl.\u00a0 Coat the chicken and transfer to baking rack.<\/li>\n<li>Broil chicken until charred, about 10 minutes per side.\u00a0 Cook until internal temperature reaches 175 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.\u00a0 Reheat sauce if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Cut chicken into 3\/4&#8243; pieces and stir into sauce.<\/li>\n<li>Add 2 tbsp cilantro to the sauce, and reserve the rest for garnish.\u00a0 Serve over rice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originally created to keep extra tandoori-roasted chicken moist, this Indian dish has become a classic.
