In Japan you&#8217;ll often see this on spinach, but can be added to just about every green vegetable. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">&#8212;Ingredients&#8212;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns ingredients-box has-tertiary-background-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-f56f613f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column ingredients-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><em>Fast<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-border ingredients-list\">\n<li>250g broccoli florets, or other green vegetable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 tbsp toasted sesame seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 1\/2 tsp sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tsp soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tsp water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">&#8212;Method&#8212;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);margin-left:0\" class=\"wp-block-list method-list\">\n<li>Prepare the broccoli: blanch (about 2-3 minutes) or steam (about 4-6 minutes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(O<em>ptional<\/em>) Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium-high heat, shaking or stirring constantly, until they begin to color.  Careful &#8211; don&#8217;t wait too long to take them off; they will continue to cook with residual heat.  Just a minute or two is adequate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While waiting on the broccoli, roughly grind the sesame seeds.  There will be some finely ground powder, but it should have plenty of larger pieces.  This is easiest (and most satisfying) using a mortar and pestle.
