Ice Cream Flavors

Cherry Chocolate chip

  • 1 1/2c cherries
  • 3 oz. chocolate
  1. During the add-in phase add the cherries.
  2. Just before removing ice cream from the ice cream maker, melt the chocolate and slowly pour into churning ice cream.  (This is around 15m in my ice cream maker.)

 

Rum Anise Chocolate Chip

  • 1 oz. star anise
  • 3tbsp rum
  • 2oz. chocolate
  1. Add the star anise during the steep phase.  Steep for 10m, then strain.
  2. During the add-in phase add rum
  3. Just before removing ice cream from the ice cream maker, melt the chocolate and slowly pour into churning ice cream.

 

Frangelico

  • 5 tbsp Frangelico liqueur
  1. Add the Frangelico during the add-in stage.

 

Mint Chocolate Chip

  • 2 Mint Tea bags (about 4g)
  • 3 oz. chocolate
  1. Steep the tea bags during the steep phase.  Steep for 10m, then remove.
  2. Just before removing ice cream from the ice cream maker, melt the chocolate and slowly pour into churning ice cream.

 

Strawberry Rhubarb

  • 180g rhubarb, chopped (1 lg stalk) —try 360 next time
  • 360g strawberries, chopped (about 2c)
  • 50g sugar
  1. Combine the fruit and sugar in a pot and heat until very soft.  (It will start falling apart.)
  2. Chill.
  3. Add during the add-in phase.
